WHAT season are you in your life? Do you find yourself trying to make sense of everything around you or do you find yourself progressing well in all areas of your life?

These were some of the thought-provoking questions that Ps. Troy Marshall posed to the congregation of CHCKL during our special weekend services with him.

Ps. Troy taught about the four seasons of Christian life by using the breaking of the bread by Jesus – how He Took it, Blessed it, Broke it and Gave it – as an illustration of the different seasons that Christians go through.

He encouraged and prayed for members who were going through their season of brokenness to persevere and embrace God’s perfecting work in their life as it will help develop good character. “You can shorten this period (the season of brokenness) by going through it with a good attitude,” he said.

It truly was a weekend of restoration and renewal for many.

Ps. Troy also preached about the different levels of relationship with God and the importance for every believer to deal with offences in their lives that could affect their fellowship with God. “Deal with every offence in your heart and deal with it quick,” he said. Dr. Kim Sunghae Cho speaking at City Harvest Church KL.

HAVING been involved in Christian ministry for more than 30 years, one would think it would be an opportune time to retire and enjoy the harvest of all the years of sowing. But retirement is far from the mind of Dr. Kim Sunghae Cho.

As a professional pianist and an ordained minister, Dr. Kim continues to use her God-given talents and skills to serve the kingdom of God through music and the preaching of the gospel.

Looking past her sweet demeanor and motherly nature, one can only describe Dr. Kim as a woman of strong, simple, and passionate faith.

Dr. Kim taught a meaningful message titled Be a happy man in God.

In her inaugural visit to City Harvest Church KL, Dr. Kim taught the congregation a simple, but meaningful message titled “Be a happy man in God”.

She spoke about the importance of living in faith and to continually trust God despite our circumstances. “When you worry and complain, your problems won’t go away. Instead, you can choose to praise God,” she said.

She also reminded the congregation that we can change our circumstances by moving the hand of God through prayer. “Always remember to give thanks and praise to God. Always count your blessings,” she said.

Davin Tan, said: “Dr. Kim reminded us how we should lay all our troubles onto God. It’s not an easy thing to do, but she has reminded us to do it and I shall try my best to lay all my troubles unto God from now on.”

Over the two services held on Oct 8-9, many people were deeply impacted by the tangible presence of God, especially when singing “Oh, Hallelujah”, a hymn composed by Dr. Kim.

But that was not all. Dr. Kim also wowed the congregation with her amazing skills on the grand piano. She presented a famous Korean gospel piece and a composition of her own titled “The wonderful love of Jesus”.

Jayesslee wowed the congregation with their mesmerizing voice.

WHAT happens when you blend a life-changing message on hope and a powerful testimony by YouTube’s hottest sensation, Jayesslee? You get transformed lives!

Throngs of fans packed the hall.

Throngs of fans (more than 3,500) packed the hall eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of Janice and Sonia, 24-year old twins more popularly known as Jayesslee.

And when they came on stage, the crowd went wild, cheering and clapping with excitement. They performed several cover versions of popular hits, the first being Rocketeer by Far East Movement followed by Dare you to move by Switchfoot. The congregation was mesmerized by their harmonious voices.

But the climax of the day was the message on HOPE by David Oh, CHCKL’s zone supervisor. Everyone deserves HOPE – having the Help of God in our lives, being accountable to Others, being guided by the Power of the Holy Spirit and knowing that when we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior, we live for Eternity.

David’s message on HOPE was strengthen by Jayesslee’s testimony of how their mother, despite being diagnosed with breast cancer, continued to encourage them to trust and rejoice in God.

This difficult period during their childhood resulted in the twins receiving God’s peace, restoration and HOPE in their lives.
