City Harvest KL Story

A love for God and a desire to raise a zealous generation for Jesus Christ led Rev. Kevin Loo to step out in faith to begin this new work for Him.

In September 2000, God gave him a vision to pioneer a new church in Kuala Lumpur, built on the firm foundations of His unchanging truth that would see the multitudes turn to Christ.

The vision of building a strong local church was further fuelled by his passion to raise a generation of bold and God - fearing people, fervently seasoned with hearts of worship and stirred up to win the lost for Christ.

Hence, on July 7, 2001, with the guidance and advice of Rev. Dr. Kong Hee, Senior Pastor of City Harvest Singapore, City Harvest Church Kuala Lumpur (CHCKL) emerged in full light, a testimony of God's faithfulness and provisions.

Over the past 10 years, CHCKL witnessed tremendous growth - from a small beginning of 20 people in 2001, to a strong church of more than 1800 people on an average weekend, right now. Apart from that, cell groups have also multiplied from 2 groups to 120 groups as of July 2011 with an average attendance of 1800 people weekly.

Moving from glory to glory, CHCKL took a step of faith, pledged sacrificially and  served fervently, over and above the church’s limit to build God’s house for the past four years. Testimonies after testimonies on how God had blessed the church, finally on July 30th, 2011 marks the day when CHCKL first hold its 1st service gloriously, by the grace of God, in such a wonderful new building called No. 3.

The mission of City Harvest is to train people to love God with passion and equip them to love people with compassion. As a church, we believe with all our hearts that this is what God has called us to do, and we will stay true to our calling. We therefore look forward to welcoming you to be part of this exciting and adventurous journey with us.
